(Album) Rezurrection - George Jones

“I wanted to give everyone a piece of who I am,” Rez stated as he explained why the album title is called, George Jones.  “Most people really don’t know my background in music and theatre, so I wanted to give everyone a taste of what goes through my head and all the music I love! There will be opera, jazz, hip hop, funk, marching bands, and more on this album. I’m just excited to invite you guys into my head space while giving God all Glory!”

The last few years have challenged us all. But as we know, there can be joy mixed with sorrow. In 2020, Rez’s single, “Preach It Right” reached #23 on the BDS gospel internet charts by Nielsen, (now known as Luminate); and in 2021, the single “Chainz” ft. Erica Mason reached #1 on the same Gospel Charts. “Chainz,” an anthem song that reminds us the Lord has removed the chains of sin off our lives, is still currently charting at #21 on the Christian hip-hop charts. Both of these songs were produced by Sam Peezy, who is a top and highly sought after producer in the genre. Rez is looking forward to highlighting his unique sound and adding a new flavor to his final project, George Jones, “I want to give everything I have and want to go out with a bang. This project is going to be a mix of musical genres and sure to hit from classical to country. This album is me.”

“Not Just Another Country Song,” the first single release of this album, hit all streaming and music platforms on 6/17/2022. Peaking at #7 on the Digital Radio Tracker in July of 2022! “This song was inspired out of a desire to see racial reconciliation. We are one body, one race, one church. The south gets a bad rap but my experience has been that it doesn’t matter where you are from, we all belong. I hope this song hits home and crosses the musical divide to draw attention to the important issue- we are all sinners, covered in the blood of Christ. That is why we belong.”
Look for George Jones to be released 3/3/2023.

George Jones III, aka Rezurrection (Rez), is a Maryland born Christian hip-hop artist. Now residing in Hampton, GA, Rezurrection is working hard laying down the final adlibs and finishing touches on his final project, George Jones. If you know anything about Rezurrection, you’ll know his catch phrase, “STAND UP”, which points to a physically and mental tough time in his life.

From 2011 to 2016, Rezurrection endured 8 hip surgeries. With a fake hip on the left and no hip on the right, he moves dependent on the Spirit of God knowing he is a walking miracle! Rezurrection is a gifted artist who spits his real-life tales of struggle, pain, addiction, and love into songs that not only teach, but also move the body and soul. Rezurrection works with selected producers and uses real life as inspiration for his lyrics. A gifted live performer, Rezurrection is truly at his best when he is on stage. Rezurrection writes and performs in hope that people will be able to relate to his past and current struggles, knowing that through the Love of Christ, we can all overcome!
