In Jesus’ parables of the lost sheep and coin, we learn that what wanders away has to be sought after; it can get lost on its own, but it can’t return itself to you. You have to choose whether you will live in a deficit, or sweep to regain the aggregate! Just as a single snowflake isn’t an avalanche, an individual believer cannot achieve what the body of Christ can achieve together.
But make no mistake, the individual doesn’t lose its value just because it’s alone. Gold on the floor is still gold! God is preparing a great sweeping to restore what has been lost to you. Will you pick up your broom?
