The story of King David and the Ark of the Covenant illustrates the importance of respecting God's presence. We should always seek instruction and counsel from the Word. Depending on our own limited understanding will cause us to fail just like David did on his first attempt to transport the ark.
This excerpt also speaks to the struggle that takes place during any significant transfer of custody. You can’t just take a passive stance! As David demonstrated during his second attempt, your steps must be ordered, and your actions must be intentional.
You must utilize maximum effort and be willing to sacrifice and fight for yours!
